COLLECTING FLASKS

The sputum flask, whether in blue glass, metal, or any other material, is very rare. There is a very strong collecting base, particularly for the types with the drain holes in the base.

Other basic types are less easy to ascertain, but are normally small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of the hand and have a larger than normal opening, with a screw-top, or flip-top cap.
